🔬💚 Science is full of surprises!
Year 6 have carried out their first science investigation of the year, exploring a fascinating question: can fruit and vegetables produce an electric current? ⚡🍋🥔
Putting their knowledge of electrical circuits into practice, they used a voltmeter to measure the electrical output of different fruit and vegetables (including lemons, of course! 🍋😉) and record their results.
There were a few surprises when they compared their findings! A fantastic way to learn through hands-on investigation, spark curiosity and discover the possibilities of science. 🧪✨

📚💚 Our travelling book is off on an adventure!
Leming, our much-loved lemur, is ready to explore! 🐒✨ Year 5 and Year 6 have started a very special activity: each week, one pupil will take Leming home to share family moments and record their adventures in our travelling book.
Through words, drawings and photographs, our pupils will develop their creativity, writing skills and sense of responsibility, while strengthening their feeling of belonging to the class.
We can’t wait to discover all the wonderful stories Leming will bring back to school! 💚

¡Bien hecho, Year 2 Amethyst! 👏

💓 Science is better when we can experience it!
Our Year 2 Amethyst pupils took their Science lesson outdoors for some hands-on learning about how exercise affects our bodies and, in particular, our heart rate. 🫀
They first checked their heartbeats while standing still and then explored how they changed after running on the spot, doing star jumps, holding a yoga pose and lying still. 🏃‍♀️⭐🧘‍♂️
They noticed that their heart rates were different after each activity and thoughtfully discussed why our hearts beat faster or slower depending on what our bodies are doing.
🌟 What a fantastic way to learn about our amazing bodies! Well done, Year 2 Amethyst! 👏
