Cultural Diversity Day at ELIS Murcia: an international community learning, sharing and growing together
At ELIS Murcia we have celebrated International Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development with a day dedicated to highlighting the cultural richness of our school community and strengthening values of respect, understanding and coexistence between cultures.
Throughout the day, our Early Years and Primary campus became a vibrant meeting point where families, students and staff shared a wide range of workshops, activities and cultural experiences. These opportunities allowed our pupils to explore traditions and customs from different countries, fostering curiosity, empathy and an open-minded outlook.
The day reflected the international nature of ELIS Murcia, where families from many different nationalities come together, and highlighted how cultural diversity is part of our everyday school life and enriches the learning experience of all students.
Activities included workshops, creative sessions, games and cultural experiences organised with the collaboration of families, teachers and students, alongside a focus on local Murcian traditions, helping to connect global perspectives with local identity. The day also featured a live connection with Kelsey Young, a scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and Science Operations Lead for the Artemis II mission, a particularly inspiring experience for our pupils, who were able to learn first-hand about her work in space exploration and ask questions about science and discovery.
At ELIS Murcia we would like to express our sincere thanks to all families, students and staff members who contributed to making this day possible, sharing their time, culture and enthusiasm to enrich the educational experience of our whole community.
