Bringing Christmas to every corner of the Region of Murcia without exception. This has been the goal of ELIS Murcia for this year. And what better way to do it than with one of the greatest symbols of the joy and celebration of these holidays: children and their toys.

In coordination with Cáritas, and at the request of the school’s own students after a successful celebration of Children’s Rights Day in November, our international school got to work. Teachers, staff, collaborators, and the school community mobilized their entire surroundings with one goal: to collect the greatest number of games, teddy bears and other play items so that the light of Christmas can also reach the most disadvantaged homes. The success has been total, with the collection of more than three hundred toys so far.

Not only that. In addition, a sustainable Christmas workshop has been carried out in which students have created their own crafts with recycled and reusable materials, focusing on a double benefit for society: on the one hand, reducing the use of polluting materials; on the other hand, by raising funds through their sale at a Christmas Market on December 21, which will be donated to the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, with whom we also collaborate throughout the school year.

Among the requirements for donation, it is established that the toy must be in good condition, it must be a non-military toy and it is recommended that they be educational.
